I started compiling this 101 in 1001 list a few months back. I'm 100% a list girl, and think it'd be fun to accomplish a huge subset of goals over the next couple of years. Enjoy. :)
The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

This sounds like a fun activity. I am not a list person, but this at least got me thinking. I like the idea that it is over a period longer than a year.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your updates.
I can sometimes drive myself crazy with lists, but I definitely like writing down goals, plans, dreams, etc because it makes me more likely to follow through. For example... about 5 years ago in a college class I wrote down I wanted to run a marathon, and here I am less than 2 months from actually doing it. :-)
ReplyDeleteEnough about me... looks like some great plans you've got for yourself!
I love this list! I need to sit down and make one because I think it's important to have goals in life, even if they are to join a running club.
ReplyDeleteStop tanning!! So bad for you!
Yayyyy NYC!! Wouldn't it be awesome if you worked as a librarian in NYC while selling scarves? Love it. I'll be your new running buddy/ROOMMATE.
Fall in love...ah, if it was possible to just check that one off.
I LOVE random packages...need to send some to my friends.
I want to win a race SO bad. That would be amazing.
Fun list! You have a lot of great goals! I like the idea of having more than one year to accomplish them. Good luck! Keep us updated!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Love it! I enjoyed reading your list and wish you the BEST of LUCK!
ReplyDeleteThis list is amazing. Everything sounds reasonable. If you are ever in the DFW area, let me know and you can scratch the meet bloggy friend off the list :) Also, if you ever want to skype, I'm down.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things that I see in your list that I'm like oh my goodness, that sounds like soooo much fun. I think its cool you want to start an herb garden too.
And get a tattoo. A book tattoo at that. Wow, you are a BA!

ReplyDeleteEeeeekkkk!! Awesome list!!! I am currently working on my bucket list but this is a good "shorter" time frame list. Might borrow the idea.
