What seems like a thousand years ago, Jenn had asked if I was interested in running the Philadelphia Marathon. Since (at this time) I was pretty committed to the Mankato Marathon, and knowing my high incidence of injury after marathons I had to decline. And then her trip back home ended up getting cancelled.
Well imagine my surprise when she decided she'd come back anyway to run the race, and ZOMG I SHOULD TOTALLY COME! I was in! To spectate! Because 26.2 miles hurts.
But of course my brain wasn't satisfied with that, so before I knew it.........
Oops!
So I guess I'm training for a marathon now.....
My mom's response: MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR VITAMINS SO YOU STOP FALLING APART DURING THESE RACES!
Yes, it was shouted... Or that's just the volume of my mom's voice. Also mine. Oh hai genes. :)
Jeri - I think we must be very similar when it comes to registering for races. We get the idea in our heads, try to push it all the way to the back burner...just knowing that eventually we will register.
ReplyDeleteThat is how I "accidently" hit the submit button for the Des Moines Half Marathon this Sunday.
In the words of the 2 year old that is living in my house now, "whoops-a-daisies!"
OMG!!!! guess whos spectating philly!?
ReplyDeleteMy husband is running Philly and will probably run something like what you want to, if you want to spend 4 hours next to a ridiculous human who sings along and dances to his iPod. Also, I will be there spectating and if we do not meet I will find a way to put jelly under your pillow.
ReplyDeleteyayzies!!!!!

I might be spectating at Philly! My running buddy is doing it and I've wanted to visit Philly, so...maybe I'll spot you on the course. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHave I mentioned lately how hilarious you are?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think you should take Katie's offer of Thom, he seems like good peeps and I'll let you know in two weeks for sure or not when I meet him. :)
Yup- you are crazy!! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteGo for it!
ReplyDeleteI used to do more of that crazy stuff, but I'm totally weak and poor now. =P
Hahah - Moms know best, right?!
ReplyDeleteThat'll be such a fun weekend for you gals - enjoy the miles & the "hey we only get a few chances to do this" opportunity to see a friend :)
Now, why couldn't this have been Marine Corps?! Next time...
If I'm not traveling, there's a strong chance I might come down for this.....hoooray!!
