March Green Outfit of the Day Challenge

No pic snapped for Day 1, but it was a grey with green striped long sleeve shirt and dress pants. Pretty boring to kick off the challenge, but just like a marathon, this is all about pacing!

This scarf looks more blue in this pic, but rest assured it's green.
My favorite look on a regular basis. All the patterns, please. :)
Warm and cozy on a cold day.

St. Patricks Day Shenanigans

My favorite holiday has come and gone. So long! Farewell! Auf Wiedersehen! (<--I had to look that up to spell it correctly). Our city celebrated the holiday on Saturday so I was sure to have that day off from work to help the city celebrate!

I started off the day with the 5k, that I wrote about previously. And then I went home to stand in the shower for hours to warm up. I'm normally the warmest runner in the history of warm runners, but when I get cold, it takes me hours to warm up. I think I have a poor bodily thermostat. :/

Jenn and I met up downtown to watch the parade, and as we arrived at our lunch meetup, it started to snow. And kept on snowing through the duration of the parade. Sideways snow, no less. Thanks monster wind gusts! We ended up snagging a table at a restaurant near the window so we could watch it from indoors. Which is great, because I wore flats without socks and may have gotten frostbite on my feet. Derp. Tom joined us later in the afternoon.

She's fast and pretty.

Tom & Jeri.

Our eyes look slightly satanic in this picture, but it's the only one of my head to toe green, so plz deal with it.

Once the parade was over, in record timing, I met up with TJ and his lady friend Katie at an Irish bar.

Where I may have found a few of these guys.

(Which I later learned I'm allergic to, or so I think.... uff)

Me and TJ. We tend to dress alike, and I swear I have an almost identical flannel. And glasses. And chucks. TWINSIES!

After we were bored there, we headed to a different bar to watch one of Katie's friend's bands. I dunno if this is the Guinness talking, or not, but I thought they were pretty good!

These guys are sham-rockin! (<--Yeah, I went there)

Me and Katie. I was wearing enough green that she didn't have to.

And after a long day of work, this guy showed up to keep me company (and give me a safe ride home).

Don't worry, I'm still going strong in wearing green everyday to work this month. Tuesday was the first day I did. not. want. to. do. it. but still did anyway.

Seen on Team Green: Vol 3

Vol. 3 equals adorable flats edition.
Get excited.

I've been coveting these green owl-y beauties for far too long for them to not be residing on my feet currently. Of course now they're out of my size. Sniffles.

$35 from Modcloth here

So my favorite color is kelly green, hands down. But my second favorite color is mint green. So cutesy, and I love it. These flats would be adorable with jeans or any cute dress. I could probably wear something to match them (or in my head it'd "match") daily for a month.

$54 from Modcloth here

Keeping up with the mint theme, these would be a really cute everyday pair of work shoes for me. Sensible (minus the price tag, geez) librarian shoes AND they look cute??? Yes please.

$100 from Modcloth here

I was deprived of having a pair of saddle shoes like every other child on the planet had. Because of this, I covet almost every saddle shoe inspired flat I see. These are so cute!

$55 from Modcloth here

Now someone be sure to alert me when the price point on all of these shoes hits the $25 range. kthxbai.

**I'm not getting any money or discounts for posting any of these links, these are just cute items I wanted to share!**

Seen on Team Green: Vol. 2

I purchased a pair of heather gray gapfit running tights a couple of months ago after a price drop, and I had a coupon. I landed a cobalt blue pair of GapFit capris on super duper sale after Xmas for $16, and they're probably the most butt flattering pants I've ever seen.

So when I saw a pair of green GapFit running tights and had some Gap Cash burning a hole in my pocket, I had to get them.

You'll likely be seeing me in these for the NYC half! (Unless it's not as cold as I'm planning because then I'll definitely be in shorts, obvs.) Get them here for $39

Speaking of running clothes, I've now (since purchasing my green pants) put myself on a clothes spending freeze (dang you student loans, taking all my moneyz!) I have set up incentives on mileage for myself. So I can snag some new stuff when I hit 250 miles for the year. Only ~ 130 miles to go!

There are some other adorable green things on the Gap site:

This is on sale for $37 here. i already own a similar half zip, so I can't have this one (unless it's still around in 130 miles... then... we'll see)

And I think these would be the most flattering capris, ever. Snag these asap if they have them in your size. Get them here.

This is not a sponsored post in any way FYI.

Why You So Obsessed Wit Me?

Channelling my inner Mariah for the post title...nbd.......

My favorite New York runner and blogger Susan posted a blog about her current "obsessions."  And I thought it was super duper fun and wanted to follow suit.  :)  Plus I always love me a good list.  So here goes....

Jeopardy.  I've always been a huge fan of Jeopardy.  As a kid our family would watch it every single day before dinner time.  When we get together for holidays, you'd better believe it's a battle of the brains.  It's not nearly as fun to play without some solid competition, so I'm glad that KK is up for the challenge (and subsequent defeat) lately.

Lists.  I guess I mentioned above that I'm a bit "list-happy" and it's no joke.  I'm in the process of creating a 101 in 1001 list, I loved crafting my 2011 goals, and I'm obsessing over a 101 books to read before you die list I recently found.  Which brings me to another obsession...

Goodreads.  Being the booknerd that I am, it's fun to see what my other booknerdy friends are reading/enjoying/hating etc.  Please find me and friend me so we can be nerdtastic together.

Stripes.  I've always been a stripes fan, but recently went a little bit overboard on my shopping trip with Jenn in Houston.  We're talking 4 new striped sweaters:  grey/white, grey/white, grey/white, and grey/yellow.  Look out... variety!!!

Green.  Always.  Obvs.

Roxette's Dangerous.  I've been jammin' out to this song one too many times the last few days.

Taking myself outside of my comfort zone.  Ok, this is not something I'm obsessesd with because I loathe being outside my comfort zone, but I'm obsessed with the idea of doing so.  One of my goals for 2011 was to be more social, so I'm going to make myself attend some local book club meetings.  I know it'll be awesome, but the insane anxiety I'll have all day leading up to it will be obnoxious.

Buffalo chicken __________.  Pizza, bites, whatever, you put buffalo chicken in front of the word and I'm allll over it.  Mmmmm.

Ice cream.  Per usual.  I tweeted about needing ice cream for productive studying this weekend, and before I knew it there was a cute boy at my door bearing my favorite (ok, one of my favorites, who could have just one?!?!!?) kind.  Granted I may have texted him the same info that I tweeted as he doesn't have twitter, but let's ignore that part.  Mmmm ice cream.  FYI that half gallon was gone on Monday.  Nbd.

My Packers snuggie.  It's legit freeeeeeeeeezing in my office right now.  I downloaded an app that tells the current internal pressure, and I've clocked it at 54 degrees.  I received a Packers snuggie for Christmas, and you can bet I'm wrapped up in it 98% of the work day.

The Packers.  Obviously I love my boys, and they're doing me proud this year.  I can't wait to cheer them on for the SUPERBOWL.  I was just a little junior high brat the last time they made it this far, and the game ended in heartbreak.  Stupid Elway.  ::grumble grumble::  GO PACK GO!

And since this post is all sorts of Susan inspired, she also tagged me in this survey.  Here goes....
