November in Review

Total Miles: 55.8 down from 98.2 last month.  Up ZERO from  last November.

Total Time:  10:25:35 down from 17:30:20 last month.

Total Runs: 12 for an average of 4.65 miles/run.

Highest weekly mileage: November 21-28 18.3 miles

Favorite run: Six mile "long" run with some newer runners from 605 Running Co. I got to run with someone on her longest run EVER. Too fun.

Most hardcore run: Eight mile long run in a whole lot of cold when my body felt like garbage.

Favorite race: Yet again, I slept in and skipped the Thanksgiving Day Run for Food. Maybe 2017?

Bike Miles: 0

Favorite Jam: Panic at the Disco's Hallelujah and Miss Jackson. On repeat, non-stop. This, still.

November goals:
  • Group runs with friends, new and old--YES! Didn't miss a Wednesday group run and met up for long runs two of the weekends.
  • 100 miles--Nope. My legs took a little longer to recover from the half than I wanted them too. And I got sick and had a tiny back ouchy. #alltheexcuses
  • Daily water consumption!--Getting a lot better at this. If I could just kick my morning latte, I'd be a water champ again.

Favorite Jam:

July Goals
  • Run enough miles to crack my top 5 highest mileage months. (140-150) This week is my recovery week, and I've been feeling on the verge of a cold, so I've been resting a LOT. I shifted my runs to later in this week so I'll still have my mileage this week but it'll be tacked on to August's mileage!

  • Run all four speed sessions as scheduled.
  • Run my 2nd fastest 10k in Lennox. Sub 52?? Sub 51?? Sub 52 wahoo!!
  • Watch 2 Oscar Best Picture Nominees. I thought Blue Jasmine was, but I was wrong. Derp. Still a good flick!
  • Every other day core work, hip stretches, and drills.
  • 1 buddy run or ride a week. Jenn and I were only able to connect twice this month!
  • Make 2 new meals using my veggie box ingredients. I've made a couple of juice recipes! And a lot of quinoa veggie bowls with my veggies.
  • Get 3-5 pounds closer to my racing weight. I think I'm down two. Meh.
  • 2 20+ mile long rides. Only one.

I'm considering getting a juicer and need advice. What brands should I consider? What brands should I avoid? What information do you wish you had before making the purchase? What's the least I can spend for a good one?? I found one for $2400, and let's just say that's a *little* bit out of my price range....

Can I just give you my credit card and trust you'll order me a good one? Thanks.

And most importantly.... what are some great recipes once I inevitably buy one!??!?!

March Goals

March Goals

I really enjoyed setting some goals for myself last month. I get really in to goals at the start of the New Year and then have a habit of forgetting about them until midway through the year. I think the monthly check in will help keep me on test with my running mileage, fitness, and some other things I'd like to work on.
  • Hit 100 miles for the month.
  • Try a new recipe. (Feel free to send me some veg recipes that are delish!)
  • Track food intake and exercise on at least 5 days a week.
  • Use cuticle oil daily.
  • STOP CHEWING YOUR CUTICLES. (I should've included a pic of my bloody cuticles of late. Stress chewing: party of one!)
  • Wear green to work everyday.
  • Photo document green outfits.
  • Read the 2014 Printz Award winning book--Midwinterblood.
  • Watch two of the Oscar best picture nominated movies.
  • Run a strong half in New York.
  • Get a few pounds closer to my racing weight.
  • Go ice skating. I had big plans to do this with a rink right next to my library, and the darn thing closed Sunday for the season. It was a high of 0 this past weekend, so no way was I going to be outdoors skating. Brrr. Good thing we still have an indoor rink for a bit!
  • Get a massage.
